Short version: We run a friendly local network. We keep what we need to make SquatchTalk work, we don’t sell your data, and you’re in control of your stuff.
What we collect
- Account info: username, first name, last name, age, email, profile details, preferences (theme, default feed).
- Content: posts, images/videos, comments, reactions, hashtag usage, and timestamps.
- Messages: direct messages and marketplace chats so they can be delivered, shown to you, and moderated if needed.
- Marketplace: listings (title, price, photos, location you provide), seller ratings, reports.
- Device & usage: basic logs, cookies, and rough location (e.g., IP-based) to keep things secure and improve features.
What we don’t collect
- Payment data: SquatchTalk doesn’t process payments.
- Precise location: unless you choose to share it in a listing or your profile.
How we use your info
- Run the site (feeds, messages, marketplace, notifications).
- Personalize your experience (theme, default feed, suggestions).
- Safety & moderation (spam, abuse, and policy enforcement).
- Improve SquatchTalk (analytics, debugging, new features).
- User Search (search for friends by @username, first name, last name)
- Birth date: (used for age verification and birthday posts)
- Legal compliance when required.
Sharing
- No selling of personal data.
- Trusted service providers (hosting, email delivery) under confidentiality obligations.
- When the law says we must, or to protect the service and community.
Retention
- Account data sticks around while you have an account.
- Posts, messages, and listings remain until you remove them or your account is deleted.
- Basic server logs are kept for a limited time for security and operations.
Your choices
- Change your theme and default feed in Settings.
- Edit or delete your posts and listings.
- Report content that breaks the rules.
- Request access or deletion of your data by emailing lewiscountytalks@gmail.com.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand what’s popular. You can control cookies in your browser, but SquatchTalk may not work properly without them.
Kids
SquatchTalk isn’t for children under 16. Please don’t create accounts for them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your info. No internet service can promise perfect security.
Changes
We may update this policy as SquatchTalk grows. We’ll post updates here and, if material, we’ll let you know in-app.
